Art & Design

Art and Design

Our aim is to engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. Art is taught in all year bands, and it is usually linked to each topic. Lessons are delivered by class teachers as well as specialist art teachers, who are able to share their great knowledge and expertise with the children.

Here at Eaton Park Academy we provide extended learning opportunities through after school clubs, including an art club. Big Art is ran weekly with an aim to encourage pupils to further develop their interest and skills in art and design.

We love to celebrate success in art and design by displaying pieces around the school.

We are very proud of our potteries heritage, and the children have celebrated this by creating a mosaic.

Art is important for all children because it is expressive, and it is often a subject that children are passionate about. The children use our resources to explore a range of techniques. It is a wonderful lesson that allows pupils to express emotions through a different form.

Below is the link to the current National Curriculum guidance for Art and Design. This forms the basis for our lessons at Eaton Park Academy and provides us with structured learning outcomes for the children to enjoy:
