4R is a fun and exciting learning environment. We have a beautiful, bright classroom full of enthusiastic children. Here in our class we work hard, try our best and have fun.

What We Are Learning

This year we have some fantastic topics in Year Four. Starting off in the Autumn term with- Where does our food go? Within this topic we will learn all about our bodies, particularly the digestive system. Our main Spring topic is all about circuits and we are looking forward to building our own working circuits and thinking about the components! Finally, we are looking at the Amazing Amazon and Life in Dark Ages where we will looking at the rainforest and what species inhabit them. We will be describing the rainforest and thinking about the Geography and locations. We will also be thinking about life in the Dark Ages and comparing life then to now in terms of daily routine and technology.

Helping Us at Home

It would be a great help if parents/ carers could help and encourage reading daily- Bug Club is a fabulous resource which helps children develop their reading and comprehension skills. Reading out loud, fluently is an important skill to have. Also, practising times tables and the division facts- there are lots of fun websites in which this can be done and the national expectation is that by the end of Year Four, children should know all the times tables (up to 12) and the division facts.
